Stewart Germann has been awarded an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in recognition of his outstanding services to franchise law in New Zealand. Widely respected across the franchise sector, Stewart is the only lawyer in New Zealand qualified as a Certified Franchise Executive and has played a major leadership role within the franchise industry for decades.
His contributions include serving as Chair of the Franchise Association of New Zealand (FANZ), authoring FANZ’s original Rules and Code of Practice, contributing to international franchise organisations, lecturing at leading New Zealand universities, and publishing extensively in franchise law and governance. Stewart also served as New Zealand’s representative to the World Franchise Council and continues to be recognised as one of the country’s leading franchise law specialists.
